Can’t find MSAccess.exe or How to use a different runtime file

Error: Can’t find MSAccess.exe or How to install a different runtime

Microsoft Access is the application that runs the ProTracker Advantage program on the workstation. We provide the Microsoft Access "runtime" file (MSAccess.exe) so it is not required that you have the full version of MS Access. Microsoft Access 2010 runtime is included with new installations after 5/28/2014. Earlier installations included 2003 runtime.

Error messages may include: "Can't find MSAccess" or "Can't find Language DLL msain.dll."

You may have an expired trial version of MS Access installed. Please uninstall the trial version, reboot, then install the appropriate runtime file from below.

After you install one of the runtimes listed below, go to the ProTracker Advantage shortcut. Right-click > Properties > Shortcut tab. In the target, replace all the text with one of the strings (including quotes) listed below.

If you do not get an error when clicking APPLY, close and open ProTracker again using shortcut.

If you get an error when clicking APPLY, confirm that the MSAccess.exe file is located in the path you entered or see notes below. Your path may be different.

File location

The location of your MSAccess.exe file may be different. To determine the actual location of the MSAccess.exe file:

1. Go to Start and type in msaccess.exe in the search window.

2. Right-click on the msaccess.exe that displays in the list and select "open file location".

3. Match the file location to one of the paths listed below.

To install or change the runtime

If you are running the full version of MS Access or have a different runtime version, modify the path to the MSAccess.exe file in the 1st string or paste in one of the strings of text listed below. Go to the ProTracker Advantage shortcut. Right-click > Properties > Shortcut tab to locate the target path.

In the target, replace all the text with one of the strings (including quotes) listed below.
