Outlook Profile prompt


Outlook profile prompt prevents AutoSync from connecting to Outlook


The Choose Profile prompt displays when opening Outlook or ProTracker Advantage and may continue to open at random times. The prompt may lock the computer and/or Outlook.

Set as default only sets the default in the popup prompt.


1. Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Mail > Show Profiles. Select a profile to always use.


2. If the above does not resolve the issue, close Outlook, then go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager > Windows Credentials. Delete any credentials associated with Outlook.

3. Another option is to go to your email account and do a repair. File > Email accounts.

Several external applications with programmatic access to Outlook will ALWAYS prompt you for which mail profile to use regardless of the settings you have in the Mail applet or the amount of mail profiles you have configured there.

This has nothing to do with it being a bug, it is just the way that these applications initiate Outlook as there is also an option to program these applications to always use the active mail profile when Outlook is already running.
